Brother DCP-9020CDN - Reset Toner Cartridge

The Brother DCP-9020CDN has a process to manually override the “Toner Empty” message, and reset the toner cartridges.

1. Ensure the printer is switched on.
2. Open the printer lid to reveal the toner cartridges.
3. Press and hold the Asterisk key for five (5) seconds.
4. The LCD should display a new menu.
5. Select the cartridge you wish to reset, K = Black, C = Cyan, M = Magenta, Y = Yellow
6. STD = Standard Capacity Cartridge, HC = High Capacity Cartridge, SHC = Super High Capacity Cartridge.
7. Reset? Will appear on the screen Select “Yes”.
8. Close the printer lid.

Brother DCP-9020CDN - Reset Drum

After installing a new drum unit, the printer needs to be reset.

1. Press “X” to clear the error message.
2. Press the tools button (picture of a spanner).
3. Press “All Settings”.
4. Press “Machine Info”.
5. Press “Parts Life”.
6. Press “#” until the touch screen message changes.
7. Press the colour of the drum that was replaced.
8. Press “Yes”.
